2018 Quilt auction Results
Having the quilt auction at the Knights of Columbus hall in Columbia as a stand-alone event was a success! We attracted several people from the general public and sold 150 quilts for $19933.50 and raised an extra $750 through lunch. THANK YOU to members of Savannah UMC, Centralia UMC, Red Top Christian in Hallsville, Hallsville UMC, and Columbia UCC for donating and serving the soup/chili lunch; the quilters that donated 150 quilted items; the 23 people that spent 2 days setting up and working the auction; and auctioneers Brent Voorheis, Phillip Yoder and Skip Bay for volunteering their time and expertise. Additionally, we appreciate the RN from Kansas City who faithfully attends our auctions to buy brightly colored baby quilts to drape over the premature babies' incubators in newborn ICU. When the babies are sent home, the quilts goes with them. Her purchase of over $2,300 made a big difference for the CWS Blankets + Program. Thank you, Rachel!!
