The Festival of Sharing hosts an annual quilt auction to raise funds for the Church World Service Blankets Program, which helps people rebuild their lives after disasters.

2025 Quilt Auction By-the-Numbers

$7,543.89 raised in 2025!

  • The auction featured 98 hand- or machine-quilted items for sale.

  • We sold 35 Church World Service blankets, each one of which represents an instant donation of one blanket to someone in need.

  • 37 bidders from 9 states participated in the auction.

2018

2018 was the first year to have the quilt auction at the Knights of Columbus hall in Columbia as a stand-alone event! We auctioned 150 quilts and raised $19,933.50 and an extra $750 through lunch. THANK YOU to members of Savannah UMC, Centralia UMC, Red Top Christian in Hallsville, Hallsville UMC, and Columbia UCC for donating and serving the soup/chili lunch.

2019

A live auction featured 158 quilted items and a silent auction featured 30 quilt-related items, raising a total of $18,165. An additional $714.15 was raised through a free-will donation lunch.

The Festival of Sharing hosts an annual quilt auction to raise funds for the Church World Service Blankets Program, which helps people rebuild their lives after disasters. The 2022 auction was held online only and folks from around the U.S. had the opportunity to bid on 96 beautifully quilted items. Proceeds for CWS totaled $9,661.51; that represents 960 blankets of hope and comfort!
