Grant Opportunities

Cooperative Response Grant

Current Status: Closed

Festival of Sharing has funding available to partner with Missouri churches and organizations in their efforts to cooperatively respond to community needs around poverty. Festival of Sharing recognizes that poverty is multidimensional and experienced in different ways. Responses may work to address concerns beyond economic resources, to include such things as physical, social, cultural or spiritual resources.

Grants will be awarded up to $1,000.

Applications accepted January 1-April 1, 2024. Applicants need not be an approved Festival of Sharing agency. Churches may apply and receive grants once a year, for up to two years.

Growing Access Grants

Current Status: Closed

Description: Festival of Sharing has funding available to partner with organizations to tackle food insecurity and promote nutrition in Missouri. Applicants are encouraged to apply for funds that will help them expand, improve or initiate efforts aimed to impact hunger.

Who may apply? Approved agencies who have participated in the Festival of Sharing at least once within the last 5 years. Previous applicants and recipients may apply.

Application: Completed applications must clearly describe the project, program or service the funds will be used for and identify how the efforts will impact hunger, nutrition or food security. Applicants are encouraged to consider an approach that will empower target audience or community. An example could be a healthy cooking class for teens where the money would be used for purchasing the food and renting a kitchen space. Projects/programs/services can be new or existing. Funds should be used for direct program expenses as much as possible. A small, ecumenical group of Coordinating Committee members will review applications. Festival of Sharing representatives will follow up with awardees with a phone call within 4 months of receiving funds.
